Diamond and CBN sharpening stones

Our sharpening stones are well-known to knife enthusiasts and professionals all over the world. We offer three distinct product lines to cater to our customers:

PREMIUM – our single-layer stones, featuring a bronze metal bond with a 3mm thick layer of either diamond or CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride), make up one of our product lines. These sharpening stones are perfectly suited for daily use and are ideal for a variety of applications.

PREMIUM LITE – bronze metal-bonded stone, with a total thickness of 3mm, consists of a 1.5mm layer of superabrasive material and a 1.5mm layer of non-abrasive material. This particular product variation is highly recommended for beginners, as it provides an optimal balance of abrasion and smoothness, making it easier to achieve consistent and effective sharpening result.

EXPERT – 3 mm Diamond or CBN monolayer on a polyamide (resin) bond.

This type of design has a more aggressive grinding of the knife edge, which can speed up the sharpening process.

From 80 grit (200/160 microns) to 30,000 grit (0/005 microns)

The sharpening stones can be used in combination with an APEX type sharpening machine.

Recommendations for use:

-250/200, 200/160 (80 grit) – To form the cutting edge.

– 125/100(160grit), 100/80 (225grit) – For rough sharpening.

– 63/50(285 grit), 50/40 (325 grit) – For fine sharpening (finishing).

– 28/20(650 grit), 20/14 (1100grit) – For honing.

– 14/10(1500grit), 10/7(1700 grit), 7/5 (3000grit) – For fine edge honing or delicate edge polishing.

– 5/3(4000 grit), 3/2 (5000grit), 2/1(10000 grit), 1/0(15000 grit) – For polishing.

What to choose cubic boron nitride (CBN) or diamond?

Both types of sharpening stones, CBN and diamond stones, will make a knife perfectly edged after sharpening. However, CBN stones, unlike diamond ones, work faster. With the same grain size in the stone, the scratches left by CBN stones are less jagged compared to diamond stones. This is due to the specific structure of the cubic boron nitride (CBN) grain.
